El Dorado Royale

Mary and I have been enjoying the Mexican Rivera just south of Cancun at a resort called El Dorado Royale. We’ve been here before. There is a lot of butt sitting and reading that goes on. Ten books and counting (Mary is in the lead, barely).

I took some time to play. It is fun what you can do in the twilight with a 2x and a 4x neutral density filter. These four are my favorites – so far.

Cool pics — I especially like the bottom image. Now, if I just knew what a “natural density filter” was… 🙂

Neutral not natural. LOL. It reduces the light coming in so that you get longer exposure times.

Got it. Neutral. Though, I suppose a “natural density” filter could be useful for other purposes (e.g., handling dumb questions on blogs). 😉

Now the next question — why use a filter instead of just setting a longer exposure on the camera?
