Day 10 – Last day (1/2 day) in London

Monday was our last morning in London. We successfully finished off most of the breakfast food that we bought at the local market for the week, and the coffee was used up. It was packing time so Kate and I visited the neighborhood coffee and pastry shop – Paul Rhodes. I wish there was one here in Minnesota. Great coffee, good bagels, croissants, danishes, etc. One smoothie, two lattes and a mocha to accompany the requisite carbs and we were ready to go.

Even though the route back to Heathrow was the same one we came in on, it certainly had a different feel having been here ten days. We arrived at Heathrow sad to be going home. It was a great trip. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and even talked about traveling again together. We make a great team.

Mary and I got home last night about 12:30 and our heads hit the pillows by 12:45. Finally a bed that fits me. I was looking forward to sleeping in. Unfortunately body clocks being what they are, at 4:30 or 5:00 this AM it was not going to happen. We decided that we’d need some caffeine to get us through. I think it will be an early night tonight.

Hope you enjoyed watching and reading.
